To improve your browsing experience for devices of different sizes, you can easily adjust where the address bar displays on your mobile devices.

You can change the position of the address bar in Google Chrome on your iPhone or iPad, depending on your app version.

To do this, open Chrome and tap the three-dot menu. Then go to Settings and look for an option called Address bar or Toolbar location.

If the option is available, you can choose to place the address bar either at the top or the bottom of the screen. Selecting the bottom position can make it easier to reach with one hand, especially on larger devices.

In some versions of Chrome, you can also change the position quickly by pressing and holding the address bar, then selecting Move address bar to bottom or Move to top.

Choose your address bar layout

To customise your Chrome browser, you can select whether your address bar displays at the bottom or top of your screen.

  1. On your iPhone, open Chrome Chrome.
  2. Tap More More and then Settings Settings and then Address bar.
  3. Select Top or Bottom.
    • You can also touch and hold the address bar to move it.
      1. Touch and hold the address bar.
      2. Select Move address bar to bottom or Move address bar to top.

Tip: You can only customise your address bar position in portrait mode. In landscape mode, it stays at the top of the screen.

If you do not see this setting, it may not yet be available on your device or Chrome version. Make sure Chrome is updated from the App Store, as Google rolls out features gradually.

In summary, Chrome on iPhone and iPad may allow you to reposition the address bar through settings or a quick long-press action, improving usability based on your preference.
