You can use Autofill in Google Chrome to automatically fill in forms with your saved information such as addresses, passwords, and payment details.

To set it up, open Chrome and tap the three-dot menu in the top-right corner. Then go to Settings.

Tap Addresses and more to add or manage your personal details like name, phone number, and address. Turn on the option to save and fill this information.

For payment details, go to Payment methods. You can add your card information and enable Autofill so Chrome can fill it in during checkout.

To manage saved passwords, tap Passwords. Chrome can automatically fill login details for websites where you have saved credentials.

When you visit a form on a website, tap on a field such as name or email. Chrome will show suggestions based on your saved data. Tap the correct suggestion, and Chrome will fill in the form automatically.

If you are signed in to Chrome, your Autofill data can sync across devices, allowing you to use the same information on your phone and computer.

For security, Chrome may require authentication (such as a fingerprint or PIN) before filling sensitive data like passwords or payment details.

Add, edit or delete payment and address info that you've saved in Chrome

  1. On your Android device, open Chrome Chrome.
  2. To the right of the address bar, tap More More and then Settings.
  3. Tap Addresses and more or Payment methods.
  4. Add, edit or delete info:
    • Add:
      1. At the bottom, tap Add address or Add card.
      2. When you've entered your info, at the bottom, tap Done.
    • Edit:
      1. Tap the entry.
      2. When you've finished changing your info, at the bottom, tap Done.
    • Delete:
      1. Tap the entry.
      2. At the top, tap Delete Delete.

If you add, edit or delete an address and you’re signed in to Chrome with your Google Account, your changes show up on your other devices where you’re signed in to Chrome with the same account.

If your payment method is saved in Google Pay, you'll need to edit or delete it in Google Pay.

Use your fingerprint or face to fill in forms

Use your fingerprint or device lock to verify your identity. You must still follow the instructions and enter your security code at least once per payment method.

  1. On your Android device, open Chrome Chrome.
  2. To the right of the address bar, tap More More and then Settings and then Payment methods.
  3. Turn Screen lock on or off.

The first time that you enter info for a card, you must manually enter the security code. After that, you can use your fingerprint to fill in the form.

Autofill your home, work and email addresses from your Google Account

Important:

  • Make sure that you’re signed in to Chrome with the Google Account where your home and work addresses are saved.
  • Confirm that your Google Account is filled in with complete home and work addresses. You can find and manage this in your Google Account settings.

You can directly fill your home and work addresses from your Google Account into online forms. With an address saved in Google Maps, you can complete forms faster.

To use this feature, tap on a home and work address field in an online form. Then autofill shows a suggestion from your Google Account.

Your Google Account provides the home and work addresses that Chrome autofill suggests. You can find and manage it in your Google Account settings.

  1. On your Android device, open Chrome Chrome.
  2. At the top right, tap More More and then Settings and then Addresses and more.
  3. You can:
    • Save and fill addresses: Turn Save and fill addresses on or off.
    • Add an address: Tap Add address.
    • Update an address:
      1. Select the address that you want to update.
      2. Enter the updated info.
      3. At the bottom right, tap Done.
    • Remove an address:
      1. Select the address that you want to remove.
      2. At the top right, tap Delete .
      3. On the pop-up, tap Remove.

To automatically fill in forms, Chrome uses your name and email from your Google Account.

When you first use this feature, Chrome shows a message that informs you how it works and how to manage your data in Chrome settings.

To use this feature, make sure that:

  • You’re signed in to Chrome.
  • The 'Save and fill addresses' is on.
    1. On your Android device, open Chrome Chrome.
    2. At the top right, tap More More and then Settings and then Autofill and passwords.
    3. Tap Addresses and more.
    4. Turn Save and fill addresses on or off.

To manage your name and email:

  1. Go to myaccount.google.com.
  2. Tap Personal info and then Name and pronunciation or Email and then Save.

Tip: Any changes made to your information will be automatically updated across Chrome’s autofill settings.

If you have issues with Chrome not suggesting your saved info

  • In Chrome settings, make sure that you turn on the 'Save and fill addresses' feature.
  • To confirm the name and email shared from your Google Account for autofill, go to myaccount.google.com/personal-info.
  • To confirm that you've saved the info that doesn't auto-populate: Tap More More and then Settings.
  • The website might not be secure enough to get this info from Chrome.
  • If the website is secure, Chrome might not detect certain fields in the form.

Delete your saved autofill form info in Chrome

To delete your addresses, payment methods or other info saved in Chrome at the same time:

  1. On your Android device, open Chrome Chrome.
  2. At the top right, tap More More and then Settings.
  3. Tap Privacy and security and then Delete browsing data.
  4. Choose a time range, like 'Last hour' or 'All time'.
  5. Under 'Advanced', choose Autofill form data.
  6. Tap Delete data.

This method doesn't delete payment info and addresses stored in Google Pay. Learn how to remove a payment method from Google Pay.

Choose your autofill provider

You can choose between Google or another autofill provider to save and fill in forms automatically in Chrome on Android devices.

Important:

  • If you use another autofill service in Chrome, all autofill data will be sourced from a third-party password manager instead of Google. To use another autofill service, you must first add the service in Android settings.
  • If you turn off autofill in Chrome, you can't autofill or save across devices for:
    • Payments
    • Addresses
    • Passwords and passkeys saved in Google Password Manager

To choose your preferred autofill service:

  1. On your Android device, open Chrome Chrome.
  2. At the top right, tap More More and then Settings.
  3. Tap Autofill services.
  4. To use Google Password Manager and Chrome Autofill, select Autofill with Google.
    • To use another autofill service in Chrome, select Autofill using another service.
  5. To confirm the setting change, tap Restart Chrome.
    • This restarts your Chrome window.
    • To cancel the change, tap Cancel.

Tip: If you use Chrome for work or school, only your administrator can manage this setting for you. Learn about managed Chrome browser.
