You can discover and install third-party apps while browsing in Google Chrome on your iPhone or iPad, but installation is handled through Apple’s App Store.
When you visit a website that offers an app, you may see a Download on the App Store button or a similar link. Tap this button, and Chrome will redirect you to the App Store page for that app.
From there, tap Get or the download icon to install the app on your device. You may need to authenticate using Face ID, Touch ID, or your Apple ID password.
Unlike desktop Chrome or Android, iOS does not allow direct installation of apps from the browser. All third-party apps must be installed through the App Store due to Apple’s security policies.
If a website offers a web-based version of an app, you can still use it directly in Chrome without installing anything. You can also add it to your Home Screen using the share menu for quicker access.
On your iPhone or iPad, you can install third-party apps directly from websites in Chrome.
