You can manage your payment information in Google Chrome using the Autofill settings to securely store and use your cards during online purchases.

To begin, open Chrome and click the three-dot menu in the top-right corner. Then go to Settings and select Autofill and passwords.

Click Payment methods. Here, you will see all saved cards. You can add a new card by clicking Add, then entering the card number, name, and expiration date.

To edit a card, click the three-dot menu next to it and select Edit. You can update details such as expiration date or cardholder name. To remove a card, select Remove.

Make sure the option Save and fill payment methods is turned on. This allows Chrome to autofill your card details during checkout.

When you shop online, click the payment field, and Chrome will suggest your saved cards. Select one to fill in the details automatically.

Add, edit or delete payment and address info that you've saved in Chrome

  1. On your computer, open Chrome.
  2. At the top right, select Profile Profile and then Passwords and autofill Passwords and then Payment methods Payment methods or Addresses and more Addresses and more.
  3. Add, edit or delete info:
    • Add: Next to 'Payment methods' or 'Addresses', select Add.
    • Edit: To the right of the payment method or address, select More  and then Edit.
    • Delete: Next to the payment method or address, select More  and then Delete.

If you add, edit or delete an address and you’re signed in to Chrome with your Google Account, your changes show up on your other devices where you’re signed in to Chrome with the same account.

If your payment method is saved in Google Pay, you'll need to edit or delete it in Google Pay.

Save address with more info

Important: You can use saved addresses across Google products. This won't change your existing home address. It'll be saved in your Google Account.

When you fill in the form with your updated payment info, you may be prompted to save it in your Google Account.

  1. On your computer, open Chrome.
  2. Go to a website where you need payment info to fill in.
  3. Enter the required address info.
  4. If prompted, at the top right, in the 'Save address with more info', select Save.
    • If you have any changes before you save, to update the name and email address, select Edit .

Nickname your payment method in Chrome

Important: These steps won't work if you saved the payment method in Google Pay. If you previously saved your payment methods with Google Pay, you're redirected to the Google Pay site to update your info there.

  1. On your computer, open Chrome.
  2. At the top right, select Settings and then Autofill and passwords and then Payment methods Payment methods.
  3. Next to 'Payment methods', on an existing card, select Edit.
  4. At the bottom, select Nickname.
  5. Enter a nickname for your payment method.

Tips:

  • If you rename a payment method, it shows when you select a form that uses a saved payment method.
  • Payment method nicknames in Chrome don't transfer to Google Pay. If you save your payment info in Google Pay, you must update it separately.

Stop saving info in Chrome

You can choose not to save your payment and contact info on your device and not to offer to save your info.

  1. On your computer, open Chrome.
  2. At the top right, select More  and then Settings.
  3. On the left, select Autofill and passwords and then Payment methods or Addresses and more.

Manage card security codes in Chrome

When you enter your payment info on a merchant site for the first time, you're asked to save your security code along with your payment info. When you save it, the security code is filled in automatically along with your payment info when you make a purchase online.

Turn off saving of security codes

  1. On your computer, open Chrome.
  2. At the top right, select Settings and then Autofill and passwords and then Payment methods Payment methods.
  3. Turn off Save security codes.

Tip: When you turn this off, saved security codes for all cards are removed from your Google Account and devices, and no new security codes are saved.

  1. On your computer, open Chrome.
  2. At the top right, select Settings and then Autofill and passwords and then Payment methods Payment methods.
    • For cards that are stored in your Google Account: You can update your card’s security code in two ways:
      • When you make a purchase on any merchant website in Chrome, enter your card info and new security code. You can use Chrome to detect the updated security code which shows you a prompt, 'Save security code'. Select Save.
      •
      • Remove the card from payments.google.com. Then use the same card to make a purchase on Chrome. Save the card again when prompted. This time, it will be saved with the security code.
    • For cards that are only saved to one of your devices: Update your security code. On the right of the card, select More  and then Edit.

Tip: To edit security codes, make sure that the 'Save security codes' setting is turned on.

  1. On your computer, open Chrome.
  2. At the top right, select Settings and then Autofill and passwords and then Payment methods Payment methods.

To delete security codes for all cards from your devices and Google Account:

  • Select Delete saved security codes and then Delete.

To delete security codes for cards saved only on one of your devices:

  1. Next to the card, select More  and then Edit.
  2. Delete the security code.
  3. Select Save.

If you add, edit or delete security codes and you're signed in to Chrome with your Google Account, any change that you make will be reflected on your other devices where you're signed in to Chrome with the same account.

Manage the 'Always verify when using autofill' setting

Important: This is a device-level setting. You must turn it on for each device where you want this setting on.

To secure your payment info from others when you share your device, you can turn on verification when you use autofill. This increases your security and protects you against fraudulent activities.

  1. On your computer, open Chrome.
  2. At the top right, select Settings and then Autofill and passwords and then Payment methods Payment methods.
  3. Turn Verify that it's you to autofill payment methods on or off.

If the setting is in grey and you can’t turn it on, check if:

  • Your device has a screen lock. To use this setting, make sure that you set up a screen lock.
  • 'Save and fill payment methods' is on.

Tip: When the setting is off, Chrome occasionally verifies your payment method for security purposes.

Fill in your loyalty cards from Wallet

Important: To fill in your loyalty cards from Wallet, you must:

  • Sign in to Chrome.
  • Have loyalty cards saved in Wallet with the same Google Account. Learn more about loyalty cards and gift cards.
  • Turn on Save and fill payment methods.
    1. On your computer, open Chrome.
    2. At the top right, select More  and then Settings and then Autofill and passwords.
    3. Select Payment methods.
    4. Turn on Save and fill payment methods.

You can use autofill to include loyalty card numbers without entering it manually while you book travel tickets, car rentals, hotel rooms and more.

  1. On your computer, open Chrome.
  2. Go to a page where you can enter your loyalty card number.
  3. Select on a form field.
  4. Select the suggested loyalty card.
    • If you've saved one or more already, autofill will proactively show a loyalty card suggestion.

Tip: You can manage your loyalty card numbers:

  • Through the Autofill menu.
    • Select Loyalty cards and then Manage loyalty cards.
  • Through your Wallet settings.
