You can use Shopping Insights and price tracking in Google Chrome to monitor product prices and make better purchasing decisions.
When you search for a product in Chrome, especially through Google Search, you may see Shopping Insights. These insights show useful information such as whether the current price is high, typical, or low based on historical data.
To use price tracking, open a product page or search results for an item. If the feature is available, Chrome may display a Track price option (often shown as a bell icon or toggle).
Click Track price to start monitoring that item. Chrome will then track price changes over time and notify you if the price drops. Notifications may appear in Chrome or be sent to your email if you are signed in.
You can manage tracked items by going to Chrome’s bookmarks or shopping section (depending on your version). Some tracked products may appear in your Bookmarks bar or within a shopping collection.
To ensure this works properly, make sure you are signed in to Chrome and have sync enabled. This allows Chrome to track items across devices.
To use the price tracking, insights features and receive notifications, you must:
- Live in Australia, Canada, India, Japan or the US.
- Sign in to Chrome with your Google Account.
- Opt in to syncing your tabs and history.
- Turn on 'Make searches and browsing better'.
