How can I use Shopping Insights and price tracking in Chrome on Android?

You can use Shopping Insights and price tracking in Google Chrome to monitor product prices and make better buying decisions directly from your phone.

To get started, open Chrome and search for a product using Google Search. When viewing product results or a product page, Chrome may show Shopping Insights, which indicate whether the current price is low, typical, or high based on historical trends.

If the feature is available, you may also see a Track price option (often shown as a bell icon or toggle). Tap it to start tracking the product.

Once enabled, Chrome will monitor the item’s price and notify you if it drops. Notifications may appear on your device or through your Google account if you are signed in.

To view or manage tracked items, open Chrome, tap the three-dot menu, and look for sections like Bookmarks, Shopping, or Tracked products (availability may vary by version).

Make sure you are signed in to Chrome and have sync enabled so your tracked items and alerts work across devices.

You can use Shopping Insights in Chrome to find the price history and price range for products on the web. This includes products with alternatives, like different colours or storage capacity.

 

Track price on a product page

Important: To use this feature the first time, when the pop-up appears, tap Show me.

  1. On your Android device, open Chrome .
  2. Go to the product page.
  3. At the top right, tap More  and then Track prices .

    • To change mobile price notifications: Under 'Mobile', tap Settings. Turn your mobile Price drop alerts on or off.

Check for price drops on open tabs

  1. On your Android device, open Chrome .
  2. Tap Switch tabs Switch tabs.
  3. On the tab for the product that you like, check for a badge. If Chrome detects a price drop, it shows a badge at the top left of the tab.
 

Find a discount badge

Important: This feature is only available for users in the US.

A discount badge automatically shows on a product page with eligible discounts.

  1. On your Android device, open Chrome .
  2. Go to the page of the product that you're interested in.
  3. If a discount is available, next to the address bar, tap Discount  and then Copy.
  4. Use the discount code at checkout by the valid date.
    • If no expiry date is provided, the discount code is only valid for 24 hours.
