You can use Shopping Insights and price tracking in Google Chrome to monitor product prices and make better buying decisions directly from your phone.
To get started, open Chrome and search for a product using Google Search. When viewing product results or a product page, Chrome may show Shopping Insights, which indicate whether the current price is low, typical, or high based on historical trends.
If the feature is available, you may also see a Track price option (often shown as a bell icon or toggle). Tap it to start tracking the product.
Once enabled, Chrome will monitor the item’s price and notify you if it drops. Notifications may appear on your device or through your Google account if you are signed in.
To view or manage tracked items, open Chrome, tap the three-dot menu, and look for sections like Bookmarks, Shopping, or Tracked products (availability may vary by version).
Make sure you are signed in to Chrome and have sync enabled so your tracked items and alerts work across devices.
To use the price tracking, insights features and receive notifications, you must:
- Live in Australia, Canada, India, Japan or the US.
- Sign in to Chrome with your Google Account.
- Opt in to syncing your tabs and history.
- Turn on 'Make searches and browsing better'.
