You can use Shopping Insights and price tracking in Google Chrome to monitor product prices and decide the best time to buy.

To begin, open Chrome and search for a product using Google Search. When viewing product listings or a product page, you may see Shopping Insights, which indicate whether the current price is low, typical, or high based on historical data.

If supported, you may also see a Track price option (often shown as a bell icon). Tap it to start tracking that product.

Once enabled, Chrome will monitor the item’s price and notify you if it drops. Notifications are usually linked to your Google Account, so make sure you are signed in.

To manage tracked products, open Chrome, tap the three-dot menu, and check sections like Bookmarks or shopping-related areas (availability may vary by version).

Keep in mind that this feature may not be available for all products or regions, and functionality on iOS can be more limited compared to desktop or Android.

For best results, ensure you are signed in and have sync enabled so your tracked items and alerts work across your devices.

To use the price tracking, insights features and receive notifications, you must:

Get price and Shopping Insights

Important: Price insights are not yet available on all product pages. This feature will be available for more product pages in the future.

With 'Shopping insights' in Chrome, you can find the price history and price range of products, which includes products with variants, like different colours or storage capacity, across the web.

Find the price history for a product

  1. On your iPhone or iPad, open Chrome Chrome.
  2. Go to the page of the product.
  3. To find 'Shopping insights', in the address bar, at the left, tap Good deal now .
    • To track the product, tap Track.

Track price on a product page

Important: Price tracking only works on pages that have a trackable product.

  1. On your iPhone or iPad, open Chrome .
  2. Go to the web page of the product that you want to track.
  3. Tap More More and then Track price.
  4. Scroll to select a product.
    • Tip: If the site doesn't contain trackable products, there won't be a list of choices.
  5. Tap Track and then Done.

Tips:

  • You will receive a request from Track price to send you notifications.
  • If you Don't allow notifications, you won't receive alerts about price changes.

When a price has dropped on a tracked product, a badge or blue-coloured dot will show on the top right of the 'Track price' tile.

Important: These steps apply to products that you already track.

  1. On your iPhone or iPad, open Chrome .
  2. Tap More More and then Track price.
  3. Under 'Tracking prices', select the product that you want to manage.
  4. To the right of the product, tap More More.
  5. To stop tracking, tap Untrack .
    • The list will update and the product will be removed from the list.
    • You'll get a confirmation, 'Price tracking stopped'.
  6. At the top right, tap Done.

Important: To receive mobile notifications, you need to turn on notifications for Chrome.

  1. On your iPhone or iPad, open Chrome Chrome.
  2. Tap More More and then Settings and then Notifications and then Track price.
  3. Under 'Track price', turn Mobile and Email notifications on or off.
  4. Tap Done.

Check for price drops on open tabs

Important: When you close the tab for a product with a tracked price, Chrome won't track it any more.

  1. On your iPhone or iPad, open Chrome .
  2. Go to Tab Switcher view Switch tabs.
  3. On the tab for the product that you like, check for a badge.
    • If Chrome detects a price drop, at the top left, it shows a badge.
  1. On your iPhone or iPad, open Chrome .
  2. Tap More More and then Settings and then Google services.
  3. Turn off Track prices on tabs.

Troubleshoot problems

I can't find a price tracking option

Important: Price tracking is currently not available outside of the US. Additionally, the device must be running iOS 15 and up.

If you can't find a price tracking option, it may not be available on the website.

Make sure that you:

I can't track a product

Some sites will have products that can't be tracked. If you've used price tracking on this device before, it's possible that price tracking isn't available for the specific product or website that you want.

If you haven't used price tracking before, check to make sure that you meet the basic requirements for price tracking.

If you've already successfully used price tracking on this device, make sure that you still meet the requirements for this feature and confirm that the product is still trackable.
