You can create, find, and edit bookmarks in Google Chrome to save and organize your favorite websites for quick access.
To create a bookmark, open the webpage you want to save in Chrome. Then tap the three-dot menu in the top-right corner and select the star icon. The page will be saved immediately as a bookmark.
To find your bookmarks, tap the three-dot menu again and select Bookmarks. You will see a list of saved pages, often organized into folders such as Mobile bookmarks or other synced folders if you use Chrome on multiple devices.
To edit a bookmark, go to the Bookmarks section and find the bookmark you want to change. Tap and hold it or tap the three-dot icon next to it, then select Edit. You can update the name, URL, or move it to a different folder.
You can also organize bookmarks by creating folders. Inside the Bookmarks section, tap the three-dot menu and choose New folder. This helps keep your saved pages neatly arranged.
Add a bookmark
- On your Android device, open Chrome

- To the right of the address bar, tap More

- Tap a folder.
- If you recently opened a folder, you'll find the same folder. To find other folders, at the top left, tap Back

- In the folder, tap the specific bookmark.
Tip: To find something specific, you can use the 'Search your bookmarks' search bar at the top.
To the right of a bookmark, tap More
Edit.
Important: Once you've deleted a bookmark, you can't get it back.

- Tap the folder where you want the bookmark.

- Drag the bookmark up or down.
- At the top right, tap Sort and view options

- To sort the bookmarks, select an option:
- Sort by manual order
- Sort by newest
- Sort by oldest
- Sort by last opened
- Sort by A to Z
- Sort by Z to A
Tip: Folders are sorted and are shown at the top of the list.
- At the top right, tap Sort and view options

- Select a view for the bookmarks.
- Visual view: Shows images of the bookmarks.
- Compact view: Shows the icon of the bookmarks.
Manage your bookmarks bar on Android tablets
You can open your frequently used pages and saved web content directly from the toolbar without leaving the current page. In the bookmarks bar, you can visually find your saved links.
- Bookmarks bar: Below the Chrome toolbar, you can open a bookmark or folder.
- To open a bookmark or a folder: Tap it.
- To go back:
- Tap back

- Swipe right with one finger.
- Tap back
- To close:
- Tap outside of the menu.
- From the edge of the screen, three-finger swipe.
- Bookmarks manager: To open the full list of bookmarks, at the top right, tap More
Bookmarks.
- If you use an external keyboard:
- To open the bookmarks manager, use the shortcut Ctrl + Shift + O.
- To turn the bookmarks bar on or off, use the shortcut Ctrl + Shift + B.
- To open Bookmarks current page, use the shortcut Ctrl + D.
- To move the keyboard focus to the bookmarks bar, use the shortcut Alt + Shift + B.
- If you use an external keyboard:
Folders in the bookmarks bar open a drop-down menu. Folders inside other folders open in the same view when you tap the back button to go back up one level.
- To create a new bookmark in the bookmarks bar: Touch and hold, then drag the URL to the bookmarks bar.
- To rearrange your bookmarks: Touch and hold, then drag the bookmark according to the order that you want.
- To move a bookmark into a folder: Touch and hold, then drag a bookmark into a folder.
- To remove a bookmark from a folder: Touch and hold, then drag the bookmark outside the folder.
If the bookmarks bar isn't available:
- Make sure that the 'Show bookmarks bar' is on.
- In the Chrome settings:
- On your Android device, open Chrome

- At the top right, tap More
Settings.
- On the left, tap Appearance.
- Check if 'Show bookmarks bar' is on.
- On your Android device, open Chrome
- If you use an external keyboard, to 'Show bookmarks bar', press Ctrl + Shift + B.
- On small windows or low resolutions, the bookmarks bar stays hidden. This layout provides more space for your tabs. To find the bar, expand your Chrome window.
- In the Chrome settings:
On your Android tablet, compared to computer, you can't:
- Drag or reorder on the bookmarks bar: On the bookmarks bar, the drag-and-drop reorder isn't supported. To arrange your bookmarks, use the bookmarks manager.
- Drag or reorder in the bookmarks manager: On the 'Bookmarks manager' page on Android, drag-and-drop reorder isn't supported. Use Sort by

- Open folders with hover: Hover support isn't a feature on Android. To open a folder, on the bookmarks bar, tap the folder.
- Use the three-dot menu option: In the bookmarks manager, the menu doesn't include options like:
- Open in new tab
- Open in new window
- Open in Incognito window
- Use the side panel: The side panel isn't part of the Android tablet. You can access bookmarks through the horizontal bar or 'Bookmarks manager' page.

If you are signed in to Chrome, your bookmarks can sync across devices. This means bookmarks saved on your Android phone can also appear on your computer or tablet.
