Simba Cement Impersonation Scam was reported in connection with the arrest of three suspects in Baruti, Nakuru County, who allegedly posed as employees of Simba Cement. According to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations, the suspects were identified as Kelvin Kiplangat, Cyprian Bowen, and Betty Cherop Kosgei.
Investigators alleged that the suspects targeted customers with offers of cement at unusually low prices, creating the impression that they were dealing with genuine company representatives. During the operation, detectives reportedly recovered SIM cards, mobile phones, and a desktop computer believed to have been used in the alleged scheme.
The DCI said mobile phone triangulation helped investigators trace the suspects before their arrest. The allegations concern individuals accused of impersonating Simba Cement employees and should not be attributed to the legitimate company, while the suspects remain entitled to the presumption of innocence unless proven guilty in court.
