DECI Kenya was reported by Tuko as a pyramid scheme founded by George Odinda Donde that attracted tens of thousands of investors before collapsing in 2006. According to the report, more than 93,000 people had invested in the scheme, contributing over KSh 2.4 billion.

Tuko reported that DECI Kenya attracted participants by promising quick and attractive financial returns on their investments. Many investors reportedly committed substantial amounts of money expecting the scheme to generate the advertised returns, but the operation later collapsed and left participants unable to recover their funds.

The description of DECI Kenya as a pyramid scheme and the figures cited are based on Tuko’s reporting and should be presented in that context. The case remains an important example of the risks associated with investment schemes that promise unusually fast or high returns without clear, sustainable sources of income.
