The phone number 0756 321 847 was reported by a complainant in connection with an alleged impersonation scam involving Safaricom. According to the report, the caller presented themselves as a Safaricom customer-care representative and claimed that the complainant needed to upgrade their SIM card.
The complainant says they were instructed to dial a USSD code as part of the supposed SIM upgrade process. They later became concerned that the instructions were intended to facilitate an unauthorised SIM swap that could potentially give another person access to services linked to the phone number, including M-Pesa.
The complainant says the attempt was detected before access to their M-Pesa account was successfully obtained and the matter was reported to Safaricom. The claims concerning 0756 321 847 are based on the complainant’s account and should be treated as allegations unless independently verified or established through the appropriate investigative or legal process.
