Saudi Arabia Domestic Jobs was reported in connection with alleged recruitment abuses involving multiple agencies operating in Nairobi’s Eastleigh and CBD areas. According to the reports, the agencies recruited Kenyan domestic workers for employment in Saudi Arabia while promising salaries of around KSh 80,000 per month and favourable working conditions.
Some workers reportedly arrived in Saudi Arabia only to find that the employment arrangements differed significantly from what they had been promised. Allegations included the absence of valid employment contracts, withholding of passports or other travel documents, and harsh or highly exploitative working conditions. Some of the agencies involved were also reportedly operating without valid National Employment Authority licences.
The allegations relate to specific recruitment agencies and practices and should not be treated as applying to all agencies recruiting workers for Saudi Arabia. Prospective workers are advised to verify an agency’s NEA registration, insist on written employment contracts, and confirm job terms through official channels before paying recruitment fees or travelling abroad.
