A Facebook page operating under the name "Zimbabwe Embassy Kenya" was identified by Zimbabwe’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Trade as being linked to a fraudulent recruitment scheme. The page allegedly posed as an official Embassy of Zimbabwe platform in Nairobi and advertised job opportunities that were not genuine.
According to the warning, the page targeted job seekers by claiming that the embassy was recruiting staff for various positions. Applicants were then allegedly instructed to pay KSh 48,187 for what was described as an "Africa Regional Labour Accreditation Certificate" before they could proceed with the supposed recruitment process.
Zimbabwe’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Trade publicly stated that the recruitment claims were fraudulent and that the Facebook page was not an authorised embassy recruitment channel. Job seekers were therefore advised to verify vacancies through official government and embassy platforms and avoid sending money through unverified social media recruitment offers.
