Fraudsters circulated fake recruitment links online claiming to offer employment opportunities with the Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS), including ranger positions. The fraudulent advertisements were designed to resemble legitimate government recruitment notices and targeted job seekers looking for opportunities within the agency.
The scam reportedly directed applicants to suspicious links or websites presented as official recruitment portals. Victims were encouraged to submit personal information, while some were allegedly asked to make payments as part of the supposed application, processing, or recruitment process.
Kenya Wildlife Service later issued a public warning confirming that the recruitment link was fraudulent and had no connection to the agency. Job seekers were advised to rely only on official KWS communication channels when verifying vacancies and recruitment exercises and to avoid making payments through unverified links.
