Kazi Mtaani Recruitment was reported as an alleged impersonation scam that misused the name of the Kenyan government’s Kazi Mtaani youth employment programme. According to the reports, fraudsters created fake registration portals and WhatsApp groups that appeared to offer access to government-supported job opportunities.
Applicants were allegedly asked to pay between KSh 1,000 and KSh 5,000 as registration or placement fees, with promises that payment would guarantee selection into the programme. These charges were reportedly used to make the fake recruitment process appear official and to persuade job seekers to send money.
The legitimate Kazi Mtaani programme does not require applicants to pay such fees to secure placement. Job seekers are advised to rely on official government announcements and verified registration channels and to avoid sending money to individuals or groups claiming they can guarantee access to public employment programmes.
